Most student at Hamlin have done a version of "Musication" with me in class! Musication is an great YouTube Channel, created by a music teacher for students. In class, we usually use real instruments, but this version was created just for you at home! I will explain everything in the video, with the help of my son, Silas! So, get a box, some kitchen utensils, a metal can and tubberware, and you are ready to create your own ensemble at home! The first video is the demo, and the second video is the actual YouTube link!
Hi Hamlin Hawks!
I just wanted to share some great websites to check out for fun stories that are free to use during this time that we are away from school. KitLit TV is always free to use, and it has tons of awesome activities and interviews with authors. You'll find some of our Authors in April on there! Audible, an audiobook company, is offering some free audiobooks during this time. Follow this link to see what free books are available to listen to when you're looking for a new read! I miss seeing you guys, and I can't wait to hear about all the books you've been reading during this time that we're away! :) -Mrs. Bateman https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Experiments Hey kids! Check out this quick video about a Chrome Music Lab! Hope you're doing well! Howdy Artists and Parents
I hope everyone is doing well and able to get outside and play. I miss you all! Be sure to check out the RCS District Specials Page for some fun art project ideas to try at home! Also, did you know Mo Willems (author/illustrator of Elephant and Piggie books) is doing a live doodle each weekday?! Check it out here: https://www.kennedy-center.org/education/mo-willems/ I’d love to see pictures of your artwork! Have a parent snap a photo of you with your art and send it to me at [email protected]! Keep Creating! Mr. Z Hi guys! I miss seeing you in our library and can't wait to get back to life in the Hamlin Library soon! Until then, there are lots of fun stories and activities for your library time on the website, https://rcsspecials.weebly.com/. I can’t wait to hear all you’ve explored and learned in your library work while we’re away. You can always visit www.mrsbateman.com as well, especially to find the Rochester Community Schools e-book collection, MeL, or the Rochester Hills Public Library’s website. There are a ton of great e-books on the RCS e-book collection, and we are working on adding more to keep you reading. It's still March Is Reading Month! I am working on recording new stories to read to you, so I will share those videos with your and your families as soon as they are ready. I will be posting in the SeeSaw, Class Dojo, and Google Classroom accounts that your classroom teacher set up. :) You can always send me a message that way or email me too! Speaking of email, you should have received your school username and password. Remember, your username is part of your email, but you need to also add the @rcs-k12.us. Your password should match what you typically use to log in. Email me if you have any trouble, and I will work on getting that all fixed for you. :) You'll be seeing my kiddos pop up in videos from time to time too. Right now, as I write this, Logan (left) and Luke (right) are doing some school work right next to me. :) I can't wait to hear from all of you! -Mrs. Bateman Hey Students and Families!
I already miss our special learning time in the music classroom! I want to give you a little heads up on a few bits of information while you are at home. -One, if you are a 4th/5th grade choir kid, check out the update in the "Hamlin Choir" tab on the Hamlin Music Weebly Page. You can practice the songs there! -Secondly, a little information for 3rd graders! We will be beginning recorders shortly after we return to school. If you are interested in purchasing a recorder, check out the "Recorder" tab on the Hamlin Music Weebly Page...depending on your computer, you may have to select the "More" tab first. -Next, check out the RCS District Specials Page for music activities and assignments while you are at home. -Finally, keep checking this special Hamlin Page for messages from your Specials Teachers! Stay healthy, and enjoy your time with family :) Hi Everyone! I took advantage of the sunshine by going for a walk with my kids. I miss you all and hope you are finding fun, creative ways to stay active during our time apart. I will be posting videos and other resources on what my family is doing! Please send me pictures, messages or videos on what you are doing too. -Mrs. K If you haven't heard...the specials teams from all the RCS elementary schools have created a website for remote learning during this unique time!
